Preparing for our House Guest This Week

I have been busy, busy busy getting ready for our house guest who arrives on Thursday.

We have a full schedule planned for his visit.  My husband's longtime friend, Craig, of 40 years will be visiting us.  We are planning on eating at one of our favorite Barbecue Food Restaurants, and a trip to Las Vegas on Friday.

We are going the the Three Dog Night Concert at the Silverton Hotel in Las Vegas Friday Night. Our friend Paul Kingery (who plays one of our GUITARS) plays lead bass/guitar and sings in the band.  We have all access passes so we try to meet up with them as often as we can when they are within driving distance.

On Saturday my husband is meeting up with all of his friends at the studio to jam, and Sunday - plans have changed so new plans are in the works.  Monday, Craig is on his way back home to Spokane.  It will be a fun time!

I have been getting the house in order and his room comfy and cozy for his arrival.

My days are full until Monday but wanted to wish every one a wonderful day!

It's A Birthday Celebration Month

We have been caught up in the madness of September Birthday Month! September is almost like Christmas in our Family. Many Birthday's, Wedding Anniversaries and we received some MOST AWESOME NEWS regarding our Grandson Cole. (I will post his video if I can).

Birthdays: Happy Birthday to My Son-In-Law Bobby, My Nephew Alex, My Grandson's Trainer Mike, ME, Kathy, My GrandNiece Siena, Jim, Christine, Cathy, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my Sister and Hubby, Debbie & Chuck! Lots of Cakes, Goodies and Fun!! Of Course, at MY age, EVERYDAY is a Celebration, yay; I made it another day--What am I going to do to make the most of this Beautiful Day?

NEWS: Our Grandson Cole has been racing "SOMETHING" since he was 3-4 years old. He is currently racing Cars and trucks, moving across that track at 130 miles per hour. Believe me, I LOVE to watch him race, BUT, I cringe until the race is over. He is my Grandson; I don't like the crashing parts.

So, Now he is 16 years old, an incredible driver (grandma thinks so, so it must be true) and he applied for the "Drive for Diversity" program. We found out on the 15th that he was accepted! Now he will be going thru the rest of the personal interviews process and, driving tests, etc., in North Carolina and a decision will be made if he makes it to the top 10 out of 30 kids. If so, The Family's life will change of course. This will mean a lot for his career. Here is a short description that my daughter posted on Facebook to better understand what this means.

"Cole made it to the D4D combine in north Carolina!!! They choose 30 drivers, 10 will make it!!! We ...r just excited to be invited!!If he makes the 10 that's the driver development program!!! NASCAR crew and car for a full season!!!! He's only 16 so he can continue to apply until he's 25 if he doesn't make it, but what an awesome experience!!!" WE ARE SO PROUD and HAPPY for him!

Here is Cole's Video

WELCOME to all of my NEW Followers, this is so fun for me...I really appreciate your follow! :0)

Have a Most Wonderful Day!

Here's What I have Discovered In My "OLD AGE"

"At twenty we worry about what others think of us; at forty we don't care about what others think of us; at sixty we discover they haven't been thinking about us at all."

Worth Thinking About!

My Day in The Desert, which is "Home"

Gonna Be A HOT One Today! need to go to Costco, dumb day to go though - 1st of the month and holiday weekend, might just bite the bullet and do it anyway!

Back from Costco! WOW, it was not as bad as I anticipated. We were there with all the "OLD people", all the younger ones must be on their way to their vacation spot. Was able to escape there without having to mortgage everything, trying to keep Michael under control was another thing! He bought a fish with eyes, going to have it for lunch and not even chop its head off! YUK!! Red Snapper.

My Husband Michael states and I quote - "Today's main lunch entree: Grilled whole Snapper stuffed with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, cilantro and white wine infused garlic butter. Baste with garlic butter between turning and serving. I love a meal that looks you in the eyes while you eat it. MMMmm Good!"

Another Dining Experiment, have to admit - it was tasty!
An Ear of Corn with Bacon wrapped around it, in foil and placed on the Grill.

OFF to the Races tomorrow, COLE (our 16 year old Grandson) Will be Racing his Car at Irwindale, CA, The whole family plus Friends will be there.  We will all be wearing Red, Black and White, his colors!

Have a Wonderful Weekend EVERYONE!
