It was Mighty Cold Today!

This was taken today at about 1:00 PST. This fountain sits out front of our Favorite Mexican Restaurant in Victorville, Ca. Victorville is located in the High desert of Southern California.  Elevation approx. 2700 ft.  The car thermometer said it was 37 degrees outside, BUT that is before the Wind Chill Factor!!!

OMG! Shag Carpeting is Back in Full Force!

My Husband and I had Cabin Fever today and decided to risk the cold, windy, rain threatening weather and venture out to COSTCO.

Wow, I could not believe all of the food samples they were handing out today!  I have never been there when they had this many little tiny food stations, with massive amounts of samples.  In fact,  Michael ate so much that he bowed out of our previous plans of going out to dinner.   I, on the other hand did not eat as many of these free, enticing, samples of pure bliss so I had him take me to the In-N-Out Burger drive thru and I ordered my usual; a Double-Double Cheeseburger and an order of fresh hot fries. YUMMY!

As we were strolling the isles of COSTCO something so very familiar caught my eye.  I almost let out a scream as I noticed just a few feet away from me was a bin filled with large area rugs.  Not just any area rugs, but SHAG Carpeting Area Rugs.  I was taken back to the 70's when that was the stylish and most popular style of rug to have.  Yes, you could grow a garden in that long, thick like hair, carpet.  YES!!! it is BACK!!!  Whoa, I don't even think I am ready for this again.  Do you know what kind of creatures can have a soft, cushy life in that carpet?  Just imagine it, cause it will happen and you will NEVER find them in their new City of lushness!

Here are the photos of the beautiful Shag Carpet choices that were available at Costco, and the price, just a mere $124.00!

Enjoy, I wish you a peaceful, relaxing evening!

I know I have been Bad!

My Dear Blog,
It was not my intention to neglect you and my friends but life is not slowing down any and I have been running my self ragged the last 10 days.  I know, I know, that is no excuse!  I could at least take a few moments to share my thoughts, my days activities, my dreams, my tears, but it has been sooo hectic.  Please forgive me, I will try to do better.

What has happened to all of us anyway?  There used to be time in the day to take a break, have some tea and cookies perhaps, share a thought or two with a friend, call a relative we haven't spoken with in a while.  It is just plain crazy nowadays.  I feel like I am running, from the time my feet hit the floor in the morning until it is time to rest my weary head on my bed pillow at night.  All day, The Phones are ringing, door bell is ringing, laundry needs to be done, dinner planned, shopping, and oh, don't forget those bills that need to be paid.  Cell phones, Computers, Fax Machines, UPS Deliveries, I am ready to scream.

I will try to reflect back on the last 10 days that I have so thoughtlessly avoided you and see what I remember as a fun, interesting tidbit that may have happened along the way in my crazy, high speed life.  I am sure there was a laugh or two, a touching story, a few tears, (maybe I will be willing to share), I will do my best to try and think of something.  If not, well, please give me a little, minute, tiny bit of a pat on the back for checking in tonight.

I am exhausted, just fried, and need to mellow out a bit before it is time for the sun to shine again and the madness starts all over.

Have a wonderful night, sleep tight, and I wish you beautiful Dreams!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Before time gets away from me,  like it seems to do daily,  I wanted to be sure and wish all of you a very "HAPPY THANKSGIVING".   I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends.  And if you are like me and Michael, not celebrating with all of the Family, I wish you a wonderful, peaceful, quiet, relaxing day!

Our Family is going in every direction this year, but not in our direction and that is OK.  Our children are all grown, they are all in different locations in the country.   We plan on eating out at one of our local restaurants and catching a movie.  It will be a treat for us, we have been so busy and it has been rather stressful lately so I am looking forward to a nice relaxing day.

So, whatever your plans are; ENJOY!  Be Thankful and Be Grateful, we still have a choice how we will spend our day.

It's Amazing What a Difference a Haircut Makes!

Here I am with a new "Ha" moment...back from Central California, a FAST Trip (1 night, full day, then home) but was able to see my Grandson Cole, Granddaughter Sydney and my daughter and son-in-law. We actually spent the night with them Sunday Night, great family time.

Michael, my husband conducted a Full Day, intense workshop, at AG Source Magazine, owned and operated by my son-in-law Robert Cabrera Jr.

So, I was able to spend the day with my daughter and her hair stylist.  I got a complete HAIR makeover and I am so happy with it!!!  For some reason my Stylist has not been on his game the last 2 visits so it was actually perfect timing for a change.  Out of the area talent, new cut, new color and I had the  love & support of my daughter who is so very honest with me when she sees my style starting to go off track.  I need all the help I can get and I APPRECIATE her input Very, Very much!

One thing about getting older is the maintenance to look halfway decent.  My gosh, as I tell all of the younger women in my life, friends and family; YOU NEED to appreciate what you have right NOW, right this MINUTE.

We can all look in the mirror at any age and find flaws; flaws that NO ONE else sees much less know what you are talking about.  If only I knew in my 20's, 30's, 40's and even 50's that my body would slowly start melting before my very eyes day by day.  I would have SO honored myself, smiled more as I looked into that mirror and compliment myself on how great I looked.  Because you know what?  YOU will NEVER look as good as you do TODAY.  Everyday takes it tiny little toll and it will steal that perfect figure, and leave that line, and trench those wrinkles around your eyes, mouth, and wherever else nature feels she needs to leave her mark.

Love yourself today, tomorrow, everyday!  You are YOUNGER today than you will be TOMORROW, you are more perfect TODAY than You will be tomorrow.  In other words, love every minute of how you look.  I know this is a very vain posting but guess what?  We all have these feelings at some time or another whether you want to talk about it or admit or not, I'm just putting it out there!

As you age, the maintenance is a royal pain in the butt, especially if you are as vain as I am.  There's the make up, the lotions, the potions, the hair coloring, the hair cuts, the vitamins, the sleeplessness, and those damn GLASSES, etc. etc...

It's all a pain, I get tired of it sometimes but then again I am NOT willing to let myself go just yet.  Don't know if it is really in my DNA to do so, so I will probably keep it up as long as they can make eyeglass lenses strong enough for me to see out of them.

Hope you all have a great evening!

A Busy Saturday

I am trying to update my Blog.  This is a lot more work--than people realize, I know all of you Bloggers know exactly what I am talking about.

We will be leaving tomorrow for the Central Valley (California). My Husband who is a Professional Speaker and conducts Seminars and Workshops on Marketing/Advertising, Social Media Marketing, and  "How to grow Your business in A Declining Market" has a Private Workshop scheduled for a company known as AG Source Magazine.  It will be an all day workshop for their employees.  Since it is a 3 hour drive we are leaving on Sunday.

We have family nearby, My daughter and her family which includes  our grandson, COLE CABRERA,  so I am really looking forward to the trip.

I am so far behind in my Blogging, and my own Social Media Marketing (I know, being married to an expert and even I need to catch up) and my jewelry designing, I am just so overwhelmed.  My Jewelry Store(s) inventory is really LOW and I just need to lock myself in my studio until I get all of my projects done!  Insane!!   I surely don't want to miss the Holiday Shopping and it is Fast upon us.

I hope to post some new designs soon!  There!   I wrote it,  now I am committed!!  Although, next week is a crazy week again, Yikes.  We have 2 Seminars and a workshop scheduled so I will need to truly muster up the energy and set aside the time to JUST DO IT!

Have a great Saturday evening everyone.

Just a Short Note For Now

We have been on a real emotional high for the last week and a half.  Cole Cabrera, My Grandson (please go to his facebook page and click "Like" at the top of the page) has been in North Carolina for Nascar D4D Combine.  He tested in the race cars in Virgina.  He and his Dad and Crew Chief Mike were gone for 10 days.  The First 3 days (his testing days) were so intense for us here at home (California) wondering and waiting for any news and updates as to how he was doing and how things were going.  He did AWESOME!  We will not know the results for a few weeks though.  So exciting!

I don't know how to get you caught up on the last 3 weeks without publishing a book, almost.  I have been busy working with My Husband conducting Marketing Seminars, visiting with friends and family.  I had to have a Crown replaced on my tooth, that was a real treat and quite expensive.  I could go into the story of how I was treated at this new CORPORATE owned Dental Office.  I think I will save that for another post because I would truly like your opinions and thoughts about it.   Everything else is mostly a blur to me. :0)

Need to Go fix dinner now so have a great evening, It is "Survivor" night and "Modern Family", two of my favorite TV Shows.

I am SO PROUD of My Grandson, NASCAR!

I know!  I have been bad about posting, but when this happened today I had to share it with you! My Grandson COLE was interviewed by the FRESNO BEE Newspaper, Fresno, California and the link tells his story of his dream to be a Nascar Driver.  He and his Dad leave for North Carolina this week for his interviews and testing for the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine to be held Monday and Tuesday at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va.

If any of you are NASCAR Fans or Race Fans of any kind I think you will enjoy this article.

Preparing for our House Guest This Week

I have been busy, busy busy getting ready for our house guest who arrives on Thursday.

We have a full schedule planned for his visit.  My husband's longtime friend, Craig, of 40 years will be visiting us.  We are planning on eating at one of our favorite Barbecue Food Restaurants, and a trip to Las Vegas on Friday.

We are going the the Three Dog Night Concert at the Silverton Hotel in Las Vegas Friday Night. Our friend Paul Kingery (who plays one of our GUITARS) plays lead bass/guitar and sings in the band.  We have all access passes so we try to meet up with them as often as we can when they are within driving distance.

On Saturday my husband is meeting up with all of his friends at the studio to jam, and Sunday - plans have changed so new plans are in the works.  Monday, Craig is on his way back home to Spokane.  It will be a fun time!

I have been getting the house in order and his room comfy and cozy for his arrival.

My days are full until Monday but wanted to wish every one a wonderful day!

It's A Birthday Celebration Month

We have been caught up in the madness of September Birthday Month! September is almost like Christmas in our Family. Many Birthday's, Wedding Anniversaries and we received some MOST AWESOME NEWS regarding our Grandson Cole. (I will post his video if I can).

Birthdays: Happy Birthday to My Son-In-Law Bobby, My Nephew Alex, My Grandson's Trainer Mike, ME, Kathy, My GrandNiece Siena, Jim, Christine, Cathy, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my Sister and Hubby, Debbie & Chuck! Lots of Cakes, Goodies and Fun!! Of Course, at MY age, EVERYDAY is a Celebration, yay; I made it another day--What am I going to do to make the most of this Beautiful Day?

NEWS: Our Grandson Cole has been racing "SOMETHING" since he was 3-4 years old. He is currently racing Cars and trucks, moving across that track at 130 miles per hour. Believe me, I LOVE to watch him race, BUT, I cringe until the race is over. He is my Grandson; I don't like the crashing parts.

So, Now he is 16 years old, an incredible driver (grandma thinks so, so it must be true) and he applied for the "Drive for Diversity" program. We found out on the 15th that he was accepted! Now he will be going thru the rest of the personal interviews process and, driving tests, etc., in North Carolina and a decision will be made if he makes it to the top 10 out of 30 kids. If so, The Family's life will change of course. This will mean a lot for his career. Here is a short description that my daughter posted on Facebook to better understand what this means.

"Cole made it to the D4D combine in north Carolina!!! They choose 30 drivers, 10 will make it!!! We ...r just excited to be invited!!If he makes the 10 that's the driver development program!!! NASCAR crew and car for a full season!!!! He's only 16 so he can continue to apply until he's 25 if he doesn't make it, but what an awesome experience!!!" WE ARE SO PROUD and HAPPY for him!

Here is Cole's Video

My Day in The Desert, which is "Home"

Gonna Be A HOT One Today! need to go to Costco, dumb day to go though - 1st of the month and holiday weekend, might just bite the bullet and do it anyway!

Back from Costco! WOW, it was not as bad as I anticipated. We were there with all the "OLD people", all the younger ones must be on their way to their vacation spot. Was able to escape there without having to mortgage everything, trying to keep Michael under control was another thing! He bought a fish with eyes, going to have it for lunch and not even chop its head off! YUK!! Red Snapper.

My Husband Michael states and I quote - "Today's main lunch entree: Grilled whole Snapper stuffed with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, cilantro and white wine infused garlic butter. Baste with garlic butter between turning and serving. I love a meal that looks you in the eyes while you eat it. MMMmm Good!"

Another Dining Experiment, have to admit - it was tasty!
An Ear of Corn with Bacon wrapped around it, in foil and placed on the Grill.

OFF to the Races tomorrow, COLE (our 16 year old Grandson) Will be Racing his Car at Irwindale, CA, The whole family plus Friends will be there.  We will all be wearing Red, Black and White, his colors!

Have a Wonderful Weekend EVERYONE!

What Happened to Life Slowing Down after 50?

OK, This has been a MOST challenging Week so far and it's ONLY Wednesday!!  JEEZ

So I have adopted the attitude,  it didn't happen until later this afternoon, but;  "Let's get all the Crap outta the way and move on to better, more positive things."   It has been a very busy time for us...Not all money making which is the frustrating part.  Just keeping up with all of life's responsibilities and unforeseen changes; that happen almost daily!

I have been trying to weed out the "dead weight" in my Twitter accounts.  I Managed to purge one account today, one more to go.  I found out that I had 779 people as "dead weight" that were not following me back.  Well, that is not good because it throws your ratios off and will effect your ranking on google search;  learn something everyday..Guess it helps to have a husband who teaches this stuff.

I have also been trying to rearrange my stores, get them more organized and specialized. Preparing for the Holidays, can you believe that!  But, if you think about it they ARE right around the corner.

I am offering a 30% off sale in my Fabric Store on Etsy.  Awesome, Beautiful Fabrics.  Mostly Upholstery Fabrics, but they are perfect for all sorts of projects such as; Aprons, Handbags, Coin Purses, Jackets and of course all kinds of Home Decor.  Some of them are light enough in weight to actually make clothing.  I also have some VINTAGE fabrics that I listed recently (still have not listed the whole lot) and a variety of 44/45" quilt/dress Fabrics.  I need to sell my inventory because we will be relocating and I DO NOT want to MOVE these Pretties.

Just wanted to check in--I feel bad for neglecting my Blog.  WELCOME to my Followers, it is much easier to post when you know that SOMEONE is actually paying attention.  It was hard talking to myself there for awhile, LOL.

Have a Wonderful evening!

I MISSED a Whole WEEK!

It has been difficult to get to my Blog page and even type a sentence this week!

My step-son Shawn came to visit, which was a lot of fun.  He is soon to be 30 years old and has just received his doctorate in Musicology.  He is such an interesting guy.  Plus, he and his wife are moving from California to Denver in a couple of weeks so we wanted to be sure to spend as much time with him as possible.

When Shawn left to go home on Thursday, my Husband Michael was scheduled to conduct a Seminar at Azusa Pacific College which was sponsored by our local  Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  The topic of his seminar was "How to Grow Your Business in a Declining Market", specifically, offering insights to Social Media Marketing; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter as well as other Social Media Marketing Sites.  I always love listening to his speeches, I always learn something even though I am married to the guy.

But anyway, I am keeping this short today.  I am tired, it is extremely HOT outside and I was dumb enough to go out into the heat today, even though it was early this morning. I must say, it zapped most of my energy.  That's my excuse anyway!

I am posting Photos of my 3 Vintage Treasures I purchased today.  We shopped  a couple of Estate Sales this morning, (in the HEAT) and I wanted to show you.  I haven't decided just yet, what I am going to do with them.  Either leave them as they are, because they are all 3 BEAUTIFUL, or do a little "re purposing", "uplifting", "remaking", whatever you want to call it.

Here they are:  Let me know what you think?  Leave them alone?  or add to one of my Jewelry pieces still in the making?

This is my FAVORITE ONE!

This One is Hand Painted Flowers on Porcelain

This One is All BRASS - Phantom of the Opera

All of These Are Vintage...But I do Not know what Era...Looks like the 60's to me?

An Interesting Article I Read This Morning

Tempted to Eat Junk Food?

In a world where you can inhale half your daily allotment of calories as you turn left out of the drive-thru, often the only thing standing between you and a few extra chins is willpower—that oh-so—elusive ability to halt the urge to indulge.

If your powers of resistance are lacking, you'll be psyched to hear this: Research shows that willpower is a kind of mental muscle, and like any muscle, it can get stronger. "We now know that the capacity for self-control can be increased," says Roy Baumeister, Ph.D., a professor of psychology at Florida State University who studies the subject.

These four tactics target the most common resolve busters. Put them into practice, and pretty soon that cheesy Sicilian slice or glazed doughnut will be no match for your mental strength.

I've added my own opinion along side these suggestions.

Eat Smaller, More Frequent Meals - I like this one, I love to eat!

Eat with Your Other Hand - I've actually learned to eat with both hands; when I broke my right arm

Weigh Yourself Regularly - To depressing.  Your weight is all over the place depending on what time and what day, what the weather is like, and how much salt intake, don't like this one!

Lift Your Spirits - By eating Chocolate, MAYBE?

I am addicted to BLOGS!

Oh NO!  I can't add another favorite thing to do to my list.  BUT, I have enjoyed looking around the Internet at many, many interesting Blogs by MANY interesting Women.  They are all so interesting and Fun...I find it so fascinating.

I have been missing my time to create.  I have been engrossed in finishing an ONLINE Traffic School Course so that I can MOVE ON with my life and get this ticket fiasco over with.  Yes, I got a speeding ticket in April.  Here in good ole' bankrupt California.  The Highway Patrolman was a real jerk, very much a mechanical human being, or maybe he wasn't human at all, he could have been a ROBOT or an ALIEN.  He wasn't more than 20 years old, I think I might have been his first WRITE UP, so it seemed.  He had the personality of a rock in the middle of the desert.  He wrote me up for the full speed he claims he clocked me at; 82 in a 65 mph.  OK, so I deserved it, somewhat;  but if you have ever driven on the freeways of California then I would not need to go any further with this.  If you are going 80 mph cars are flying by you, staring you down, flipping you off, and swearing 4 letter words at you because you are going to slow!  So, in my defense I was just keeping up with traffic but,  I guess I was the easiest one, for whatever reason, to pull over and Cite.

Well, that pissy piece of paper cost me nearly $600, I had to take the TINT off the side windows, pay a fine and a fee for this and a fee for that and GO TO TRAFFIC SCHOOL.  Thank God they have online courses so I didn't have to go and spend one of my PRECIOUS Saturday Afternoons or DAY I should say; at a boring, monotone instructed, live class.

That is what I have been doing for the last 2 days and I am not finished yet.  I was hoping to get it all done today but that didn't happen.  I had to step away before I lost it and threw the computer out the window, is this class ever going to end???  Maybe tomorrow!

We experienced an EARTHQUAKE today. 5.9, centered in Palm Springs which is 141 miles from us.  While I was in the throws of reading the lesson ONLINE for this Traffic School the house began to rock and sway.  That was a surprising jolt back to reality.  The light fixture over the stairway was swaying back and forth as if there was a major gust of wind to clean the dust off of it.

Tonight I wanted to write a little note on my blog, get ready for a busy day tomorrow and off to dreamland and fantasize about getting order and organization back into my life.

I leave you with this Pretty Vintage Card.  I love the Bird and needless to say, you can't have to many Crowns when you are the  QUEEN!

Behind Again but it's a NEW Day!

So I am letting time slip by me again which is obviously not hard to do these day for any of us.  I feel like the clocks have some super element in them that is making them race around the numbers at a speed I certainly can't keep up with.  WHEW...life is passing me by much too quickly!

Well, our little outing on Saturday was quite productive.  I found the most awesome pieces of estate jewelry which I am going to re purpose into NEW pieces and hopefully will draw the attention of buyers who will love it!  Also I found incredible Vintage Fabrics.  I am so excited about them.  Pieces dating back to the 1940's and they still look brand new, they were stored very well.  I will be using some of these wonderful fabrics in my own creations and selling some of them in my Etsy fabric store.

It was such a hot day here on Saturday that by the time we got home my husband and I were both pretty tired so the rest of the day was spent indoors and me sorting thru my fabulous finds.

Sunday was another day that just whizzed by me.  But,  we did manage to carve out some time with family.  We joined my Sister Debbie and her Hubby Chuck for a nice relaxing Lunch/Dinner - LINNER at Mimi's Cafe, (not my favorite place to eat), but for family time it is all about being together and not so much as where that might be.  After LINNER we took Debbie and chuck over to the New GUITAR SHOWROOM because Chuck was out of town when it was finished and we had our grand Opening and Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting.  After that, it was home again and time to settle in for the night.

On Monday, was a usual Monday for us; Work, Work, Work, Errands, Errands, Errands.  I was trying to get a few of my designing projects slipped into my busy, crazy day but that didn't happen.  Nothing of great interest was really going on but I still cherish everyday.

Yesterday, Tuesday, was more enjoyable because I was able to finish 2 Necklaces and a Brooch and I will be able to get them listed in my stores today and I will put a picture of them here on my blog.

Today; I am catching up on emails this morning, posting on my facebook, checking in with friends and family and I thought I better get caught up on my Blog.  It is going to be another HOT one so I need to get ready and get out the door.  I have a couple of places I need to go to this morning and then get back home before the heat and winds get to bad.  It's always windy here.  Drives me crazy, I HATE Wind!

I have 3 other pieces of Jewelry that should be finished by early afternoon so I will be listing those in my stores.  I am excited!  I have my week planned out between all of my projects whether it be Sewing projects, Jewelry projects, or my NEW Paper projects.  There just is not enough time in a day to do all that I want to do.

So I will check back in later, hopefully have some pictures posted for you to see.  In the meantime, have a WONDERFUL, FUN Day!

It's Saturday and I have BIG Plans For My Day....

Well, I am going to make this short and sweet for the moment.  It is a most beautiful morning here in the high desert of Southern California and I am going to take full advantage of it before the afternoon winds kick up.

I am on my way out the door, yes, it is 7:02 am early I know;  but isn't that when you find the BEST stuff at Estate Sales, Garage Sales, and the local Swap Meet.  Guess where I am going.  Yes, Treasure Hunting!  I will get back to you later on today and let you know what I find.  Gotta go for now :0)

What a CRAZY Day!

My day started off early, I had to hurry thru the usual "get the house in order" routine, eat breakfast, check emails, package up all of my orders from my stores (of course I do love to do that!) and get out the door by 8:45 for a Hair appointment that was at 9:30.  I have to drive across town, about 20 minutes with NO traffic, but I always try to allow for that.  I made it on time!  Spent a few minutes with my hairstylists yapping about what the 2 of us have been up to the last 7 weeks and then he proceeded into the back room to mix his MAGIC that was soon to be slopped onto my hair.

After what seems like a short time because we were talking about family, business, just people in general the whole time,  it was then time for me to sit under the dryer, (gotta let that magic potion simmer).  He always tells me just 10 minutes under the dryer because he knows how I hate it and then after 30 minutes he whisks me away to the shampoo bowl where I could lay all day and have someone massage my head for me.  I love this part of the HAIR thing.  I find it so relaxing.  Of course, He always makes sure I am most comfortable so I don't have that awful kink in my neck going on the whole time.

Then finished with the shampoo and conditioner routine and off to the chair and cut, cut, cut! He has been cutting my hair with the razor instead of scissors the last 3 visits, seems to be working out well for me.  I never used to like that sort of cut I always preferred the Scissors.

Anyway, he is wonderful!  For 24 years old he is so talented, with color and cut and conversation, very mature for his age.  I have been going to him for about 4 years now so we are pretty much like family.  Although I could be his mother for sure, but I cringe when I think I am on the verge of almost being his Grandmother.  After all My Grandson just turned 16 so that is not too far off.

After my 3 hours at the salon I promptly went to lunch.  The Drive thru at In-N-Out Burger.  Any of you living in Southern California know what I am talking about, there is nothing like it and in my opinion for fast food it is one of the healthier ones for a Burger, if there is such a thing.

Then off across town to Hesperia, the next town over, about 10 minutes away, to stop at the Hesperia Star Newspaper to pick up 25 copies of the newspaper that had the article of our Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting event last Thursday for My Husband's new GUITAR Showroom.  The article was Great, 2 full pages and photos too!

Then off to Walmart!  That was fun but a waste of my time, they did not have what I was looking for so I will need to order that item online.  Stopped at the Post Office Box, Picked up the Dry Cleaning, mailed all of my packages and finally I am home.  Checked emails once again, answered them all, and NOW it is freakin 5:43 pm and I haven't even thought about Dinner.  I wonder if Michael will take me out to Mexican Food!  I LOVE Mexican Food.  Although, I am quite full from lunch and I just munched down half a bag of Cheetos (it was not the small bag either).  WHAT TO DO???

I am a little frustrated - AGAIN, because I had high hopes of finishing some jewelry pieces today or one of the other 3 projects I have going.  But OH WELL, tomorrow is another day!  Right now, I am really tired.  I know my day doesn't sound like much compared to some of you out there but it was more than enough for me.  Gee, I wonder what's on TV tonight?  Anyway, I will post more tomorrow. :0)

Have a wonderful evening!

A Beautiful Day In The Desert

WOW!  It is one of those NOT so common, NO WIND, Beautiful Days here in the High Desert of Southern California.  I love mornings like this, it puts me in such a positive, energetic, motivated mood!  Saying that; I have a list of all of my priorities and I'm ready to check each item off, one at a time as I complete them,  and right now, I feel like I can get thru that list today and it will be a breeze.  So, we shall see!

I will be designing and creating more of my jewelry today.  I am excited about that and I will post the pictures as I get them done.  I will also list them in my stores on Etsy.com and Artfire.com.  Etsy, TQRC Etsy, Artfire

My husband has a few things that I can help him with in our business 1to1 Network.
We own an Advertising and Marketing Business.  He knows I am addicted to the Social Networking aspect of the business so I gladly accept his delegating that part of the business to me.  We have customers that we work with and market their business thru our Social Networking Services which we provide.

We also own a Boutique Guitar Company.  My husband is a musician and is an awesome Guitar Player so he decided to build and sell guitars.  It has been a fun business for him.  We have met some really fun and interesting people because of this business.  You may want to take a look at these gorgeous guitars, for me, one who is musically inept, they are the most beautiful pieces of art.  And then when he plays one for me or one of our ARTIST endorsees plays them it just makes chills run up and down my spine.  It really is an exciting business!  GUITARS

OK!  My day is planned and I'm READY, I'm pretty much organized, even dinner is planned (yay) I am anxious to get started.  I will post more later along with my new designs.

Have a WONDERFUL day!

My Latest Creation "BLOSSOM"

I am so way behind in my projects it is pathetic.  Everyday "REAL LIFE" gets in the way. I am grateful though for my health and for the love of my family.  Is there really anything more important than that?  I think NOT!  When the phone rings and it is my Daughter calling me just to see "What are you doing Mom", there is nothing better than sitting down and discussing with her my schedule for the day or what  I might be involved in at that moment in time.

She always brightens my day and thrills me with stories of her adventures, her day and lots about my 2 Grandchildren whom I adore more than life itself.

In the midst of my everyday chaos, I managed to slip in some time for the designing and creating of this little summertime jewel which I so fondly call "BLOSSOM".  It reminds me of my daughter and granddaughter, both of whom are girly-girls and love the dainty, fragile petals of a beautiful flower in bloom.

So, here it is...I Hope that you like it.  I would appreciate any and all feedback.  What could be different, colors, or style.

Back later.  I'm going to try and add one more beauty to my inventory.  I will post it for you when finished.

This is WRONG!!!

So I go into MICHAEL's Craft store today and what do I see??? Freakin CHRISTMAS ornaments, Halloween and Thanksgiving stuff, What the Hell!

(Forgot to tell you this little tidbit in my last post.)

It's a GREAT DAY!!!!

I am SO excited, I have a laptop again and that means I can get more  accomplished, I am mobile, I am HAPPY!  Now I can catch up on this last weeks Adventures, it has been crazy and non stop here since March....If I made as much money as I am busy I would be a gazillionaire by now and typing this from my Yacht right now!

I have been without a laptop for several weeks now and I have had to use the "slow as a snail" desktop in my studio, it moves slower than a snail I believe, pages take several minutes to load, etc., etc.  I really only use it as a backup and while I am NOT ungrateful for having it (because it has saved my butt these last few weeks), I hate it!!!   You know, that Love/Hate relationship.   We have Fiber Optic Internet service, fast as lightening, EXCEPT on that thing.  Whew, that was a lot of work trying to get things done on that piece!!!

Anyway, I will post more later.  Still setting up a few more email accounts and adding my "favorites" to this computer.

June 10, 2010

Wow, People are going to think I am a slacker already!

I had every intention of posting yesterday and once again, the day just disappeared on me.  So, for today I can share with you some of my crazy life for the last day and a half.

Yesterday started off early as usual, 6:00 am and once right out of bed, I am already thinking about my schedule for the day.  I Had all these big plans of accomplishing sooo much.  Typical!!  Anyway, it started off with the LAUNDRY.  Now, isn't that an exciting subject.  Sorting thru all of these colorful pieces of fabrics, cottons, polyester (not really polyester), fleece, flannels, WOW, it always amazes me how many pieces of clothing 2 people can  wear in a few days time.  One interruption after another and all of the laundry did not get done, I had to finish it this morning.  But just a a tidbit of information; I LOVE adding Baking Soda to the tub of laundry with the liquid laundry soap.  I believe it really does help soften the water and make your clothes smell much cleaner and helps cut down on the amount of laundry soap you need to use.  Anyway, I use it, I get a big giant bag at Costco for less that $6.00, it goes a long way.

So during my whole Laundry DAY, I managed to get in a trip to the fabric store and the health food store.  My husband Michael called me during this outing and asked if I would like to go to lunch and OF COURSE I am not going to pass up a lunch with my husband.  We went to the NEW Country Club at the Golf Course and each had Pastrami Sandwiches, his on Rye Bread, Mine on a Baguette (wonderful) and it was most delicious!  I had Parmesan-garlic fries and he had the gourmet potato salad, both of which were mighty tasty.

Home,  to continue on with the Laundry and answer emails, check facebook, which I always get majorly distracted with and Twitter, and checked my online stores.  I had MOST INTENDED to create a few pieces of jewelry but took a look around at my Studio and scared myself.   Has it ever happened to you that one day you suddenly see something, I mean REALLY SEE what has been a part of your surroundings for a long time and discover that something is not right about this?  Well, it happened to me yesterday.  I Really, Really, Really wanted to design a piece of jewelry, I already had the piece created in my head, but My studio was so out of sorts, such a mess, I could no longer work in it.  So for the next couple of hours I was busy organizing it.  That was a GOOD feeling!

Next thing I new it was 5 p.m. and I was trying to decide, do I fix us dinner or skip it all together?  After all we had such a large lunch and I still was not hungry.  The decision for us was NO more eating today.  So, I had dessert instead, my favorite thing to eat any time, any day, any place.

My newest, latest, and greatest weakness in the dessert world is chocolate covered Oreo's. YUMMY!!!!!!!  My daughter bought some dark chocolate covered Oreo Cookies from Godiva Chocolates the last time we were at the mall.  She insisted that I try them.  Well, I know how I am,  and thinking to myself I was a little worried, I asked me, what if I really like these?  Am I willing to pay $2.50 a cookie for a Binge I will more than likely go on?  I was dreading taking that first bite, I was scared, I knew it was going to happen.  Even though I do not like WHOLE Oreo Cookies.  (If I buy the Oreo cookies I only eat the chocolate cookies and not the inside.  Toss the inside away).  WELL,  let me tell you.  If you have never had one of these most WONDER DELICACIES, you are in for a treat!  The chocolate on the outside is smooth, dark, (you can get milk chocolate too) and add to that the crunch and chocolate of the cookie with the center filling, the combination of it is WONDERFUL!!  Chocolate, Sweet, with a hint of something salt.  Not sure where that is coming from unless it is from the chocolate cookie part of the Oreo.  OMG !! Heaven!!!  Well, because of my obsession with this new found Love, and the expense of these cookies and the trips to the Mall, I decided if I was going to continue down this Glorious Chocolate path I need to do it in a more cost effective way.  SO, I scoured the Internet looking for Chocolate to dip stuff in.  I found the recipe I needed and guess what?  I have been making my own chocolate dipped Oreo Cookies.  One night I made a double batch and also dipped Marshmallows, (another of my all time favorites).  I have been strung out on Chocolate Covered Oreo's and Marshmallows for at least 30 days now.  Soon, I will get tired of them and move on to something else, I always do, but until then...I am in HEAVEN!  I will post pictures of these tempting little angels later.

After dessert, I was able to settle down and began to start on 1 of my 5 projects from yesterday.  I hope to finish this beautiful summer bracelet today and have it posted by this evening.

So, that was my yesterday.  I can start on my today in a while, but right now, I am itching to get to work.  I really want to finish that bracelet and hopefully slip in a couple of other things too.

In a bit!  ♥♥♥
